Keyboard shortcuts and quick actions

Drive docAnalyzer from the keyboard: shortcuts, the command palette, @ to name a source, and / for quick actions.

Once you know your way around, the keyboard is faster than the mouse. docAnalyzer has shortcuts for getting around, for acting on what you've selected, and for driving the chat box, plus a command palette that finds any action by name.

See every shortcut

Press ?, or Mod+/, to open the cheat sheet. It reads the live list of shortcuts, grouped by section, so it's always current as new ones are added.

The command palette

Press Mod+K to open the command palette. Type a few letters of any action ("documents", "rename", "settings") and run it with Enter. Each row shows the shortcut bound to it, so the palette doubles as a way to learn the shortcuts. When you can't remember a key, this is the one to remember.

Get around

G is a leader key: tap G, release, then tap the next letter.

Do this Press
Go to Documents G then D
Go to Notes G then N
Go to Labels G then L
Go to Chats G then C
Go to Account settings G then S
Back, forward Mod+[, Mod+]

Act on a selection

In any grid (documents, notes, labels, chats), select rows and act on them without opening the menu:

Do this Press
Rename R
Apply labels L
Delete #, or Mod+Backspace

Move the highlight with the arrow keys, and hold Shift while clicking to select a range.

Drive the chat

Do this Press
Open Ask docAnalyzer G then A
Start a new Focus chat Mod+Shift+O
Jump to the message box Mod+J, or Shift+Esc

Name a source with @

Inside the chat box, type @ to pull up a list of the documents, notes, and labels the chat can see: the whole workspace in Ask docAnalyzer, the current dataset in a Focus. Pick one and its name drops into your message.

This is a typing shortcut, not a way to change what the chat reads. Mentioning @Q3-Report.pdf writes the name into your sentence; it does not add that document to the chat. To change which sources a Focus works from, edit its dataset (see Combine sources into a dataset).

Quick actions with /

Type / at the start of the message box for a short menu of common actions: start a Focus chat, open the command palette, switch the model, jump to settings, or show this shortcut list. It runs the action; it does not add text to your message. For the full set of actions, use the command palette.
